One of the ways my clients find helps to maintain a positive mental attitude and focus is to journal. I know there is a lot of focus on writing down the negative aspects of what is happening to you. This basically gives you a diary of negative memories. Here is an idea. How about taking notice of when you are happy, feel more at ease, have a moment of clarity or have a feeling of general wellbeing?
When you feel any positive vibes, have a positive thought, take note:
1. What are you doing?
2. Where are you?
3. What or who is around you?
4. What may be contributing to this feeling?
This creates a "go to" happiness diary, designed to help you when you are not feeling resourceful. Go here and have look at what can make you happy, bring you joy and has worked in the past. Can you replicate this to move you one step forward towards your joy? Give it a try!
